Philippe Tapissier a vécu son enfance en Finlande où la nature s’étend à perte de vue et s’imprègne dans l’être de manière indélébile. Il réalise un jour, debout dans sa prairie finlandaise, qu’il ne parviendrait jamais à inclure tout ce qui l’entoure dans une seule photographie. «J’ai longtemps cherché à faire rentrer tout de l’entier du monde, son essence et sa représentation, dans mes images. Ça ne rentrait pas dans le cadre, il y avait trop de monde. »
Une intuition l’amène à déconstruire le paysage en fragments pour ensuite le reconstruire. Il procède par accumulation, juxtaposition et superposition d’instantanés, recréant ainsi la perception qu’il avait des paysages photographiés, entre réalité, mémoire, et onirisme.
Par un jeu d’assemblage et de stratification, l’image devient alors matière, elle est palpable, présente en de multiples plans dans l’espace. La coexistence de ces formes précisément composées et des paysages intemporels confère une force brute à l’ensemble et touche à l’universel. Le spectateur peut alors se laisser porter et emporter, sentir son esprit vagabonder et s’échapper dans son propre paysage issu de l’image.
Philippe Einari Tapissier vietti kesänsä Suomessa, missä luonto ulottuu niin pitkälle kuin silmä voi nähdä ja upottaa itsensä hävittämättömästi ihmiseen. Eräänä päivänä hän seisoi iso isänsä kijailija Einari Vuorelan niityllä Keuruulla, ja ymmärsi ettei hän koskaan pysty sisällyttämään kaikkea hänen ympärillään yhteen valokuvaan. «Olen pitkään pyrkinyt tuomaan kuviini kaiken kaikkialta maailmasta, sen olemuksen ja esityksen. Se ei mahtunut kehykseen, oli liian paljon tavaraa. »
Intuitio saa hänet purkaamaan maiseman fragmenteiksi ja rekonstruoimaan sen uudelleen. Hän etenee keräämällä, rinnastamalla, ja superpositioimalla otoksia, luoden näin oman mielikuvan maisemasta joka hänellä oli, todellisuuden, muistin ja unenomaisen välillä.

Katsoja voi antaa oman mielikuvansa kantaa ja viedä pois, tuntea henkensä vaeltelevan ja paeta omaan maisemaan.
Philippe Tapissier lived his childhood in Finland where nature extends as far as the eye can see and immerses itself in the human being in an indelible way. One day, standing in his Finnish meadow, he realized that he would never be able to include everything around him in a single photograph. « I have long sought to bring the whole from all over the world, its essence and representation, into my images. It didn't fit into the framework, there were too many stuff. »
An intuition leads him to deconstruct the landscape into fragments and then rebuild it. He proceeds by accumulating, juxtaposing and superimposing snapshots, thus recreating the perception he had of the landscapes photographed, between reality, memory, and fantasy.
Through a process of assembly and stratification, the image then becomes material, it is palpable, present in multiple planes in space. The coexistence of these precisely composed forms and timeless landscapes gives a raw force to the whole and touches on the universal. The spectator can then let himself be carried away, feel his mind wander and escape into his own landscape from the image.
